The Return of LYDIA

Indie rockers LYDIA have announced an October 4 release date for their highly-anticipated new release, Paint It Golden.

The band led by front man, Leighton Antelman, has also unveiled the cover art and track listing for the record that marks their first new full-length since 2008’s, illuminate. An EP titled, Assailants was released in 2010, which served as the catalyst for what was supposed to be LYDIA’s farewell tour. After a string of sold out shows that found them playing to rapturous audiences every night, the band membersrealized it was not yet time to call it quits and officially announced they would be continuing on,ultimately recording Paint It Golden this past summer with producer Matt Malpass (Copeland, All Get Out).

I am overly excited to put out this new record. I have been holding onto a lot of these songs for years now and I didn’t even know if I’d ever release them. I am truly blessed to be able to share my thoughts and ideas with so many people around the world,” says Antelman.

A tour in support of Paint It Golden will kick off on October 6th (see dates below).

Lydia will be premiering the music video for the track, “Dragging Your Feet In The Mud” shortly. More details on the premiere will be announced shortly.

UNSIGNED OF THE WEEK!!! Stephen Schriner

We had the honor of being able to talk with Stephen Schriner, make sure to check him out at Myspace.com/StephenLawrenceSchriner and look out for his new band FIRST THINGS FIRST!!!!!

How did your inspiration to do music come about?

- Music has always been a huge part of my life, but it wasn’t until I first head the band All Time Low play at Warped Tour in 2006 that I knew that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life!

How would you describe yourself musically?

- I’ve been through almost every genre of music from Country, Rap, Classic Rock, Modern Rock, Jazz, Techno… Music Is My Life.

Who are you some of your musical influences?

- All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, The Maine, We The Kings have inspired me to make the music that I make today!

Are you planning on touring any time in the near future?

- Well I just started a Pop-Punk band called First Things First, so keep your eye out for us early next year!

What sets your from others in your genre?

- I just do me.

If you could tour with any 3 bands who would they be?

- All Time Low, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga!

Tell us one random fact about yourself.

- hmm.. I Have A Money Spending Problem!!! HELP!

What can we expect from you in the future?

- I’ve put my solo career on hold for a little while until my new band gets underway! But I’ll have a new album out very soon!

Whats your favorite song to play?

- First Grade Heroes is definitely a favorite!

Where do you think you will be in 5 years?

- My goal in 5 years it to be touring internationally!

Unsigned band of the week… ONE DAYS NOTICE

Check out this amazing band, and this quick interview we recently were able to do with them. The band recently posted new music on their myspace, so check it out HERE

1. Tell us a little about One Days Notice.

We’re a bunch guys with tattoos and little to no ambition of having real jobs.

We like to play catchy pop/punk songs about parties, girls, and just basically

having a good time.

2. How did the band come about?

Like a lot of bands nowadays, we got together through sites like Craigslist and MySpace.

The band originally started with Dave Vallo on guitar, Chris Bassitt on vocals, Justin

Albaugh on bass, and Ben Torres on drums. In the spring of 2010 Jesea Lee was added to the mix to play guitar and sing. During the summer of 2010 Ben Torres left the band due to family issues and was replaced by Sean Manos.

3.How does your band differ from other bands out there right now?

Energy. We do whatever it takes to put on an entertaining, energetic show, even if that means popping a few Viagra beforehand. We also try really HARD to incorporate that energy into our songwriting.

4.How would you describe the music scene in Cleveland?

Getting better. We love Cleveland and we’re very proud to call it our hometown. Sometimes the scene seems to be over-saturated with metal and rap, but you’d be surpised how many good pop/rock/punk bands are around here.

5. You’re just about to hit the studio to work on your EP. Are you pumped?

We’ve actually finished our EP. We had a blast, though.

6. What are you looking forward too must with the new music?

I think we’re all pretty excited to shop it to the labels and see what kind of response we get.

7. You have a video out for the song “Live and Learn”. What made you choose that song, and what was shooting like?

We chose it because at the time we felt like it was our best song. Shooting was a lot of fun. All the costumes and whatnot.

We never realized how hard it was to play in time with the CD because live we would always play the song faster, ha.

8. Any plans for another video any time soon?

Yep, we’re working on making one for a song off the new EP. I won’t give away too many details, but just know it involves squirrels

and beer.

9. Watching videos of you guys playing live, you remind me of New Found Glory, Do they influence your band at all? Who are some of your other influences?

They are one of the biggest pop/punk bands in the world so it would be crazy to say they don’t influence us in some way. Our song structures are

influenced by them and like you said, our live show is reminiscent of NFG’s. I’d say some of our other influences are definetly Blink 182 for our poppier songs

Rise Against for our more punk songs.

10. Give us a random fact about each member of your band.

Chris LOVES olives. He literally has a shelf in his kitchen filled with jars of olives.

David has four dogs and all of them are pugs.

Jesea has serious money invested in plastic cups and ping pong balls.

Justin doesn’t wear underwear when he plays shows.

Sean has a black belt in love making.

11. Whats the best way for fans to help your band out or spread the word? Do you have a street team?

Telling all your friends about us helps out SO much. Just directing them to our facebook or MySpace is a big help. We do have a street team and we have a

year round constant enrollment, ha. Just shoot us an email to ODN_TEAM@YAHOO.COM and we can get you all the information.

12. Do you play private parties/colleges? If so how can people get in touch to book you?

Yes, we will play whenever and wherever. We love playing colleges. It’s always a great time. The best way to book us is to email one of our managers Angela Vallo or

Mike Villegas at Onedaysnoticemusic@yahoo.com
